School speakers wanted - London and Scotland
Young people of today are the decision makers of tomorrow: they are the ones who can truly change the world for the better. You can help make that happen by becoming a volunteer School Speaker. By giving talks and workshops at primary and secondary schools to encourage global learning you can inspire the next generation to take action.
Your role as a School Speaker
We provide opportunities for primary and secondary schools to develop international links and to encourage understanding and respect for the global community.
As a volunteer school speaker you will
- give talks and facilitate workshops at schools in your area which have requested a visit from SOS Children
- encourage and support school fundraising initiatives
- pro-actively arrange your own speaking opportunities at schools where you have contacts.
SOS Children will provide you with resources and ongoing support.
Ideally you will have:
- experience of working with young people
- enthusiasm for the work of SOS Children
- contacts at schools in your local area
- experience of public speaking to diverse audiences.
How to join our team of school speakers
To register your interest as a SOS Children volunteer all you need to do is complete and submit this application form. SOS Children will then review your completed application and get in touch with you.
