Der General Ziethen ist neben ihm eingeschlafen. Eine Soldatenfrau kömmt und setzt einen Topf mit Kartoffeln an des Königs Feuer, ohne ihn gewahr zu werden, und bläst in das Feuer, dass ihm Asche ins Gesicht fliegt. "Prior to the Battle of Torgau, Frederick the Great halts with his army to fill a swamp in order to bring the cannons across it. Next to him, General Ziethen has fallen asleep.
