Summary

Description
English: Port Talbot Steelworks. The Port Talbot Steelworks is one of the largest in the country and spans several square km. This photo is obviously taken from a distance since the interior of the works is private and subject to photographic restrictions. Update: by June 2008 most of the buildings in this image had been demolished. These include the blast furnaces, coke ovens and chimneys. Two larger blast furnaces and new coke ovens have been constructed in a different location within the Corus Steel site. This means that the terrible pollution given off by this steel plant has dramatically reduced.
