Local football rivals Ajax Cape Town (red and white) and Engen Santos (yellow) met each other in a friendly at the inaugural event of the Sail Stadefrance managed Cape Town Stadium, on 23 January 2010. All 20 000 tickets for the event were sold to fans eager to catch a first glimpse of the ZAR4.5bn stadium. The event is the first of 3 events planned to test the stadium's readiness ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in June. |
